The Velvet Haven is a sanctuary of sensuality where you will escape the mundane to liberate your artistic expression through the delightful art of burlesque.
Burlesque is a powerful craft with a rich political history that blends dance, theatre and music in an entertaining and thought-provoking way. It’s long been a tool for critiquing societal norms and political issues. We believe this history is part of the transformative magic of our art form.

Classes & Workshops
We offer classes & workshops in classical and neo-burlesque styles for people of all genders expressions. Catering to artists interested in burlesque as a fun and fulfilling hobby, dancers wanting to pursue a burlesque career and everything in between. No experience is required to start your burlesque journey with us.
Hens & Bachlorette Parties
Add some classic flair to your hens party! We offer both in-studio lessons for people of all abilities – yes even grandma can join in. We also offer a 2 hour drink and dance package in Auckland’s CBD, in the perfectly named, and private Velvet room

Private Tuition
Navigating one’s own sensuality or burlesque persona can be a complex journey. We offer one on one tuition to students who need some guidence in themselves, their acts or their movements. These can be sitdown tuition, in studio tuition or even online via video chat. We’re here to help you blossom into the seductive star you want to be.
